Emre KOCYIGIT is currently pursuing a PhD in “Detection of Deceptive Online Patterns” as a member of the DECEPTICON project, funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). He particularly studies on cyber security problems using data science techniques and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms such as Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL).
After receiving bachelor’s degree with magna cum laude in 2015 from the Computer Engineering Department of Turkish Air Force Academy, National Defense University, he carried out research on optimization problems using evolutionary algorithms like genetic algorithm and worked in software companies as in Project Manager, Product Manager, Business Analyst roles. He started his master’s degree in 2019 at the Computer Engineering Department of Yildiz Technical University and studied on cyber threat detection using ML and DL in his master thesis. He specifically focused on phishing attacks during his master education and graduated in 2021.
Now, he continues his passion for Artificial Intelligence with a socio-technical approach to produce effective and efficient solutions to cyber security problems.
